Hi, I'm Ana
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What started as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t part of the distant plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt tougher than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Cinder Field Map
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourist content. What was missing was a frank, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Represents (And What's Not)
This site IS:
- Real-world insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a meaningful change
This site is NOT:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review site
- Just another travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Ana
